RRB Group D Selection Process
The recruitment and selection process for these Group D posts comprises the following stages:
- Computer-Based Test- CBT will assess your knowledge in various subjects like Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, and General Awareness.
- Physical Efficiency Test- PET is designed to evaluate your physical fitness and includes tests like running, long jump, and high jump.

RRB Group D 2026 Pattern & Syllabus
The Railway Administration maintains the authority to conduct the CBT in either a single or multi-stage format. Successful candidates proceed to the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), followed by Document Verification (DV) and a Medical Examination. Please note that a negative marking scheme applies, with 1/3rd mark deducted for each incorrect answer.
The minimum qualifying marks for shortlisting are 40% for UR and EWS categories, and 30% for OBC (Non-creamy layer), SC, and ST candidates.

RRB Group D Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility for the RRB Group D exam is determined by nationality, educational qualifications, and age. Only candidates meeting the RRB Group D Eligibility Criteria will proceed. Notably, recent updates confirm that CCAA-certified candidates are eligible to apply for the Railway Group D CCAA Recruitment 2026.
Nationality
Candidates must fulfill one of the following nationality requirements:
a. A citizen of India, or
b. A subject of Nepal, or
c. A subject of Bhutan, or
d. A Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before January 1, 1962, with the intent to settle permanently, or
e. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or East African countries (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, Vietnam) to settle in India permanently.
f. Candidates from categories (b), (c), (d), and (e) must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
Education Qualification
- Candidates with a 10th pass or ITI or equivalent or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT are eligible to apply for the RRB Group D 2026 Exam.
- Candidates with Course Completed Act Apprentices/ITI for the post of Level-1 unless otherwise specified.
- Those awaiting the results of their final examination of the prescribed minimum educational/technical qualification are not eligible to apply.
- Candidates who have completed Course Complete Act Apprentices from any trade.

Follow the step-by-step instructions provided in the official guidelines to submit your online application for the RRB Group D Recruitment 2026.
- Visit the official website http://www.rrbcdg.gov.in/.
- Click on the ‘New Registration’ link.
- Register for the exam and submit the required details like name, date of birth, father’s name, mother’s name, Aadhaar number, SSLC/Matric registration number, year of passing, mobile number, email ID and then submit the registration form.
- Upon registration, candidates need to verify their email ID and mobile number through OTP.
- Login on the home page using the registration number and password.
- In Part I of the application page, candidates had to provide the details of educational qualification, community, gender, religion, Ex-Servicemen, CCAA, Minority, Economically Backward Class Age Relaxation and other details.
- In Part II of the application page, candidates had to indicate his/her priority/preference for the posts.
- On completion of application details, candidates were redirected to the payment page using Online Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card/UPI and Offline Challan.
- Candidates were required to choose the exam language.
- Candidates had to fill in the details of a valid photo ID card.
- Enter bank details to get the refund of fees.

RRB Group D Salary Structure
Selected candidates will receive a basic salary of Rs. 18,000 per month. In addition to the basic pay, employees are entitled to benefits including Dearness Allowance (DA), Transport Allowance, House Rent Allowance (HRA), Night Duty Allowance, medical coverage, and overtime pay. The total in-hand monthly salary for RRB Group D posts ranges from Rs. 22,500 to Rs. 25,380.
