There are thousands of study options available worldwide. While having so many choices is a fantastic opportunity, it can also be overwhelming—especially when you are already navigating the stress of planning your studies abroad.
Don’t worry! We’ve designed the BestFit tool to simplify your decision-making process. By answering a few simple questions, you can instantly see how well your qualifications and preferences align with the specific entry requirements of various university programmes.
What is the BestFit tool?
The BestFit tool is one of the most powerful features on our portal, designed to help prospective international students narrow down their search for the perfect Master’s degree. Simply provide some details about your academic interests, budget, and background to get started.
The BestFit tool utilizes sophisticated algorithms to analyze how your profile matches the admission criteria of different courses. To ensure these results are accurate and highly relevant, we developed our system in close collaboration with international higher education admissions experts.
When you visit the Online Result website, you’ll see the BestFit widget on the top left. Click it, and in less than two minutes, you will receive personalized recommendations highlighting the study programmes that best match your profile.
Here are the key questions you will answer while using the BestFit tool:
1. What degree have you already graduated?
Most Master’s programmes abroad require an undergraduate Bachelor’s degree. Some disciplines mandate that your Bachelor’s be in a closely related subject, while others are more flexible, accepting graduates from any accredited university or college.
2. Where did you graduate your last degree?
This information is crucial for validating your academic history. Generally, a Bachelor’s degree from a European institution is recognized by universities across other European states.
For non-EU/EEA students, the process may differ; you might be required to pass an entry exam or complete a pre-Master’s programme to fully meet the admission standards for your target degree.
3. What discipline have you studied before?
The field of study you select is vital. With dozens of disciplines and subdisciplines available abroad, it is important to note that many competitive degrees require your previous academic background to be directly relevant to your chosen path.
4. What are your previous academic results?
Your previous academic performance is a major factor in the application process. These scores are often evaluated as a GPA, a percentage, or specific classifications like Honours degrees in the UK.
You can select the grading system that applies to you from our list. If your specific system is not listed, you can self-assess your performance. When you submit your final transcripts, the university will conduct the official conversion to verify your eligibility.
5. Do you have any relevant work experience?
Relevant professional experience is a requirement for many specialized Master’s programmes. For instance, MBA degrees often require 2–3 years of experience in business or management. These requirements vary significantly by institution and programme.
6. What is your current English level?
If you are not a native English speaker, proof of language proficiency is standard for studying abroad. The most widely accepted English tests include IELTS Academic, TOEFL® iBT, and PTE Academic.
If you have not taken a formal English proficiency test yet, you can estimate your current level. However, you will eventually need to complete an official exam to satisfy the specific admission requirements of your chosen Master’s degree.
Learn more about the differences in our guide to IELTS vs TOEFL® vs PTE.
7. What is your budget for tuition fees?
Tuition fees vary considerably based on factors like the country, university prestige, and your programme of choice.
- The country where you want to study
- The discipline you’ve chosen
- The length of your Master’s programme (it’s usually 1-2 years, but some disciplines require 4 years or more)
- Your nationality (in many countries, non-EU/EEA students pay higher degrees than EU/EEA citizens)

8. What is your budget for monthly living costs?
Living costs also fluctuate by location. Expenses are generally higher in major hubs like the UK or Scandinavian nations, and more affordable in countries such as Portugal, the Czech Republic, or Poland. Remember that urban centers and capitals are typically more expensive than smaller towns.
Your personal lifestyle choices will play a significant role in your budget. If you enjoy frequent dining out, socializing, or traveling, ensure you account for these extra costs when estimating your monthly expenses.
