The ICFAI (Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University), Tripura was established under the provisions of the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University, Tripura Act 2004 enacted by Legislative Assembly of Tripura State and notified vide Notification No F.2 (529)- DHE/UDCA/2003, it. 15.06.2004 of Government of Tripura. The Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University, Agartala is conducting by the ICFAI, a non-profit educational society with the objective of imparting training in finance and management to Aspirants, working executives, and professionals in India. The University has been affiliated by the UGC (University Grant Commission), under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956. The DEC (Distance Education Council) has approved the programs of the ICFAI University, Tripura. The University believes in creating and disseminating knowledge and skills in core and frontier areas via innovative educational programs, research, consulting and publishing, and developing a new cadre of professionals with a high level of competence and a deep sense of ethics and commitment to the code of professional conduct.

A number of educational programs are provided in management, finance, banking, insurance, accounting, law, information technology, arts, commerce, education and science, and technology at bachelor’s and master’s levels on full-time campus and distance learning formats. The University also allows private Aspirants to enroll in various programs if they satisfy the eligibility criteria. The University does not provide any courseware, nor conduct any contact classes, nor offer any another support services to private Aspirants. Such Aspirants have to prepare for the programs on their own as per the curriculum and are required to attend the examinations, as per the rules and regulations of the University. The University has no study centers/branches outside the State of Tripura.

ICFAI provides an array of courses at Under Graduate level in the streams of Arts, Science, Education, Engineering, Computer Application, Law, and Business Administration. Along with the Bachelor’s courses, the institute also provides five years integrated courses program in Computer Application and Law. 

Admission to B.Tech courses are based on ICFAI Tech School Admission Test (ITSAT)/ Tripura JEE/ JEE Mains, whereas admissions to Law courses are via Law School Admission Test (LSAT)/ Common Law Admissions Test (CLAT). For admission to Under Graduate courses, they must have passed the 12th examination with minimum 45% marks. Aspirants who have passed their Bachelor’s in concerned disciplines are eligible for admissions to Master’s program. They must have obtained Mater’s degree in the concerned disciplines with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks for admission to a Ph.D. program. Selection to all the Law courses (LLB & LLM) is made via national/ state/ university level law entrance examination such as LSAT or CLAT. For B.Tech courses Aspirants have admitted via ITSAT/ Tripura JEE/ JEE Mains Admissions to all other Under Graduate and Post Graduate courses are merit-based via the application screening and interview of the candidate.25% seats are reserved for Aspirants belonging to the State of Tripura in any course of ICFAI University, Tripura.
